Snack Time: Roasted Chickpeas

Hello again!!! This recipe I’m going to dedicate to all of the ladies. I think that we experience cravings a little worse than men. In particular that are certain times when I could literally go from having soy sauce to having sugar then back again to the soy sauce…..and then back to the sugar. haha Don’t judge, all you girls know you have been there! Well I started making this snack in huge batches and putting it into ziplock baggies.

Tracy’s Roasted Chickpeas


2 cans of chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tbsp of tamari (soy sauce)

1 tsp of cinnamon, cayenne, salt, paprika, cumin, garlic powder and sugar

1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees, and line a sheet pan with parchment paper. There is no oil, so make sure to use parchment paper and not tinfoil.

2. Mix everything in a bowl making sure to evenly coat the chickpeas with all the goodness

3. Bake for about 30 minutes, shaking pan to roll around the little guys every 10 minutes and make sure they aren’t burning. Sometimes the sugar can carmelize and make it tough to move them around…don’t let them fall asleep on your pan…move them!

4. Enjoy hot out of the oven, or let cool and package them away for a snack later. Sometimes I put a papertowell in the ziplock bag to keep the moisture out of the bag and making them soggy.
